Before changing your lighting product to a new lighting product, always ensure that you plan plenty of time to acclimatise your corals to the new lighting source that you are changing to. This can be done by running the old lighting unit alongside the new lighting unit or by raising the new lighting unit higher than the old lighting unit position. This is to reduce the lighting stress that can be created to the corals of a much more powerful lighting source than the one they have become accustomed to. This could lead to the changing of their symbiotic Algae and Bacteria types and numbers present and if done too quickly may end up killing them off and bleaching the corals.

This needs to be taken into consideration for all technologies of lighting whether it be fluorescent, LED or metal halide lighting forms. Arcadia cannot be held responsible for any issues with corals or any other inhabitants due to improper acclimatisation of your corals /inhabitants to the new source of lighting you have provided for this purpose.
